Rough up the first ˝” of the road base and water the roads approximately 30 minutes prior to the application. This will allow for maximum penetration and effectiveness.

Who applies RDS-38?
We do. The price includes the cost of the product and the application cost.

How long will the RDS-38 application last?
The initial application will last for two to three months. Subsequent applications will last for three to four months because RDS-38 builds up a residual that enhances its performance.

How does RDS-38 control new dust that is introduced to roads?
RDS-38 resists evaporation and will draw moisture from the air, trapping new dust. Vehicle traffic will also help this process by pressing down both new and old dust. This daily process leads to a dense, stable road base.

Will rain alter the effectiveness of RDS-38?
No, RDS-38 is actually re-activated by rain and humidity.

Can I park my water truck forever?
During periods of normal rainfall and humidity, the moisture retained in the road will eliminate the need to water the roads. If an area lacks both rain and humidity for extended periods (2 to 3 weeks), the operator will need to water once per day, preferably in the early afternoon. Extended periods of extreme hear and low humidity may require a morning and afternoon watering. However, one watering still may be sufficient. In either case, the operator can successfully achieve a dust-controlled environment, a stable road base, and a true cost savings benefit.

How will RDS-38 reduce maintenance on my roads?
RDS-38’s ability to densify and stabilize the road minimizes, and in some cases eliminates the need to grade roads. Constant watering degrades the road base, which creates added grading and road maintenance.

Will RDS-38 corrode my equipment?
At times, some of the materials in the RDS-38 may leach out of the road bed. In such cases, the concentration of the product is normally in the one part per million range. Therefore, when RDS-38 is applied to the roads, it is non-corrosive to road vehicles and equipment.

Will RDS-38 harm the environment?
RDS-38 will not harm vegetation or affect any nearby water supply.
