Metal Cleaners and Degreasers

Metal parts can be degreased using citrus/d'Limonene-based cleaners for heavy grease, oil, and tar buildup, or synthetic solvent-based degreasers for electrical and precision components. Both formula types are formulated to be non-corrosive and safe for use on metal surfaces including engines, bearings, gears, and machinery.

Citrus-based degreasers using micro-micellular technology effectively emulsify and lift grease, oil, and tar from metal surfaces without leaving harmful residue. These formulas penetrate heavy soils through flushing action, making them effective for engines, construction equipment, and industrial machinery maintenance.

Not all degreasers are safe for electrical equipment. Products used on motors, generators, relays, or electrical assemblies should have high dielectric strength and be non-conductive and non-flammable, such as solvent degreasers tested to ASTM D-877 standards with ratings up to 36,000 volts, ensuring safe use around live components.

Citrus-based degreasers use natural dextro-Limonene and citrus extracts to biodegradably dissolve grease, oil, and tar, leaving negligible residue after air-drying. Solvent-based degreasers use synthetic formulas that self-evaporate, leave no residue, and offer non-conductive properties suited for electrical and precision equipment cleaning.

Aerosol cans (typically 20 oz, 12 per case) are ideal for spot cleaning and portable maintenance tasks, while bulk formats like 5-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums suit high-volume industrial operations. Consider your usage frequency, application method, and storage space when selecting a packaging format.

Many metal degreasers, particularly citrus-based formulas, are completely biodegradable, contain no petroleum distillates, and use 100% natural citrus terpene oil ingredients. These formulas are non-corrosive and safe for metals and the environment, though disposal requirements should always be verified against local regulations and the product SDS.
