Metal Cleaners and Degreasers

Metal parts can be degreased using purpose-formulated solvent degreasers matched to the contamination, surface, and application. Z99 Safety Solvent Degreaser is designed for engines, bearings, gears, motors, and industrial machinery. ZL98 High Purity Plastic Safe Contact Cleaner is designed for sensitive electronic components, circuit boards, relays, and switches.

Z99 Safety Solvent Degreaser removes grease, oil, tar, and grime from compatible metal surfaces through powerful flushing action. It is non-flammable, self-evaporating, and leaves no residue after use. Supported applications include engine parts, motors, bearings, gears, relays, generators, starters, and industrial machinery.

Not all degreasers are suitable for electrical equipment. Z99 is non-conductive, non-flammable, residue-free, and rated to 36,000 volts under ASTM D-877. De-energize equipment whenever possible and follow the product label, SDS, lockout/tagout requirements, and facility electrical safety procedures.

Z99 is a self-evaporating synthetic solvent degreaser that leaves no residue and provides non-conductive cleaning for industrial and electrical equipment. ZL98 is also self-evaporating and is specifically tested for compatibility with a wide range of plastics and rubbers, making it the better choice for sensitive electronics and plastic-heavy assemblies.

Aerosol cans are suitable for targeted cleaning and portable maintenance, while 5-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums support higher-volume operations. Z99 is available in aerosol cases, 5-gallon pails, and 55-gallon drums. ZL98 is available in aerosol cases only. Consider the product, application method, usage volume, storage space, and handling requirements.

Z99 Safety Solvent Degreaser contains no petroleum distillates and no ozone-depleting chemicals. ZL98 is also formulated without petroleum distillates. For specific environmental, disposal, and handling requirements, review the current product label and SDS for each product.
