Zircon Industries' Dry Graphite Lubricant – Approval M971-93 is a quick-dry graphite lubricant for railroad and heavy industrial metal-to-metal wear applications. It is AAR-approved under M-971-93 and approved for use by CSX, Norfolk Southern, Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, and railroad contractors. Available in aerosol and bulk formats, it is used on switches, couplings, autotrack equipment chains and tracks, hinges, thread lubricants, gaskets, and other metal-to-metal wear surfaces.

Dry graphite lubricant is often preferred where a dry film is needed instead of a wet lubricant. Dry Graphite Lubricant – Approval M971-93 leaves a dry graphite film after the carrier evaporates, making it suitable for railroad switches, couplings, autotrack equipment chains and tracks, hinges, threaded fasteners, and other metal-to-metal wear surfaces. For consumer locks or non-rail applications, users should confirm compatibility with the lock or equipment manufacturer before applying any lubricant.
